Stopped at an antique store where i picked both these up for $30 today. The smaller squareish one is a Stanley No. 13-1/2, 6" boxwood caliper, folding rule. The other is a Stanley No. 136-1/2, 6"boxwood caliper rule.I've spent a few hours researching them and the #136-1/2 is fairly common and compared to several on internet is in "Fair plus plus" to "Good" condition fetching between $20 and $60.However..the No. 13-1/2 is "Very rare", and from the only 2 pics i could find,is in "Good" condition according to the internet toolsites and Antique auction sites. They also say it was made between 1888 and 1944 or 45 if i remember correctly. The 2 pics. and 4 auction prices i could find put this somewhere between $110 and $198.50!!As these were the only "Tools" in the antique store,i'm hoping he had no idea of the possible value or what he may have had.I asked him how often he got tools in he said not to often as he specialized in lamps and old glass.
Does anyone know where (here in the N.E.) or on the net i should go and do a little more research.I'm hoping someone has some experiance with "Antique Tools" and sources.
