my island is only 7 miles long by 11/2 wide! So you get rock fever every now and again.

True, but how is rush hour traffic? When its time to go to the store how long of line do you have to wait in?
City living is that great either. I have neighbors within 20 feet on either side of my house.
I want to be that hermit that lives an half an hour from their nearest neighbor.

Lines at the store? Traffic? You gotta be kidding me right? We have a population of about 2-300 feral donkeys, horses and cows on the island, completely loose, which provide the only "traffic" jams. The national speed limit is 20 MPH, although I did drive into a TREE once avoiding a donkey (keeping it "wood" Tom)
